Associate Continuous Improvement Engineer - Chattanooga, TN

The Associate Engineer Technical Services provides technical support/advanced troubleshooting and drives continuous product, process, and packaging improvement at MW factory locations. The position is a member of the MSE Focused Improvement (FI) and Quality Pillar; leads/executes improvement projects and mentors/trains others in problem solving methodologies. Additionally, this role manages R&D line trials by coordinating requests with the site value stream, R&D, Engineering and Commercial to ensure optimal execution and knowledge capture.

What are we looking for?

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related scientific or technical disciplines with a minimum of 2 years engineering or related food industry experience.

Skills/Experience:

• Understanding of raw and packaging material functionality, risks and performance in a food product
• Preferred experience in food packaging and/or processing, with an understanding of processes and machine operation and strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
• Process control, SPC, Project Management and Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
• Demonstrated success influencing/leading others. Presentation skills and good communication skills

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Implements new and improved products, processes, systems, methodologies, and packaging
• Designs, manages, communicates and documents line trials
• Develops and implements financial and quality continuous improvements through the application of complex problem-solving techniques, contributing to overall site CI goals through the completion of CI projects
• Supports development of standard run conditions as part of new product/process/pack validation and improvement of current processes to support improvement of product quality
• Manages active and alternative product recipes through RADAR
• Participates in Quality Management Programs (QMP) such as but not limited to Internal Audits, CAPA's, S-CAPA's
