Job Description

Position Objective

Handle a diverse range of analytical responsibilities in support of client teams associated with all H&W product offerings.

Essential Duties

  • Review claims experience reports to ensure accuracy and consistency for client presentation.
  • Develop claims projections using various sources of information for client presentation.
  • Complete and present complex financial projects; such as Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Model various plan designs and value plan changes.
  • Review renewals, prepare renewal and budget reports, and assist in renewal negotiations.
  • Track and report on cost savings accomplishments of all renewal negotiations, by client and carrier.
  • Develop comprehensive health insurance underwriting knowledge including strategic approaches to health care cost management.
  • Relationship building with the financial analytic and client teams.
  • Track historical data of carrier underwriting and track loss ratios by client.
  • Attend meetings with client and team members to present projection/renewal results, as needed.
  • Act as a Facilitator between teams to create consistencies amongst the various reports and processes being monitored.
  • Assist teams with financial analytics related to emerging and changing regulatory issues.
  • Assist with report preparation for prospect opportunities.
  • Assist with analysis related to M&A activities including financial due diligence, harmonization, and proforma budget development for both existing clients and prospects.
  • Perform special projects as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related program or equivalent education and/or experience, with an emphasis in math, statistics, or finance required.
  • Must have the ability to compile, analyze, present, and interpret financial and statistical information to facilitate decision making.
  • High skill in using computer application software for financial modeling, statistical analysis, and spreadsheet calculations required.
  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines required. Must be results-oriented, with the ability to change priorities as needed.
  • Must have above-average verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to interact with Associates at all levels of responsibility, and with Lockton clients and prospects, with tact and diplomacy.
  • Willingness and ability to expand knowledge and effectiveness in the benefits industry by successful completion of benefits-related courses required.
  • Must have the ability to work independently under the supervision or guidance of others.
  • A working knowledge of welfare benefits with a basic understanding of risk and insurance concepts is preferred.
