Associate, Financial Planning & Analysis
Job Description
Sol Systems is seeking a full-time Associate to join its Financial Planning and Analysis (“FP&A”) team. This person will report to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and will be responsible for tracking and reporting financial and operational performance of the business, updating company projections, providing budget support, and undertaking financial analysis and modeling. The role will also assist with the enhancement of the existing processes and procedures to better track and report financial results and key performance indicators.Â

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform financial analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational performance of Sol’s business units to explain main drivers and variances of actual performance from previous projections and budget
- Support creation of monthly management and board level presentations and dashboards.
- Collaborate with Business teams to forecast growth, cash flows, working capital, and track and report performance at the portfolio, product and department levels
- Support coordination, compilation, analysis and reporting of Key Performance Indicators to management and investors
- Prepare and update financial forecasts on a cash and P&L basis with the focus on cost tracking and reporting for Sol’s business units
- Maintain and improve company’s financial models
- Support continued improvement of annual corporate budgeting process, financial projections and operating forecasts
- Assist in the enhancement of existing processes and procedures and development of automated business intelligence tools to increase efficiency and accuracy of data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Run ad hoc reports and sensitivities to support key business decision
A successful candidate will possess the following competencies, skills and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
- Master’s degree or professional certification such as a CFA or CPA is a plusÂ
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Demonstrated ability to manipulate complex sets of financial data and create financial models
- Ability to interpret and present data in a visually compelling format to financial and non-financial audiences
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present information succinctly and accurately to senior executives
- Prior trading operations or energy industry experience a plus
- Knowledge about SRECs and solar energy production highly desirable
- Advanced Excel and Power Point user
- Power BI, VBA, and SQL skills a plus
- Extremely organized with the ability to advance multiple projects within tight turnaround times
- Takes initiative to identify and execute on process improvements
- Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment
- High standards for accuracy, precision, and work produced
Location & Hours:Â This is a full-time role and will be based in our Washington, DC office.
Commitment & Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
