Associate General Counsel
Job Description
WelbeHealth is a VC-backed healthcare company founded in 2015 that offers comprehensive medical and social care to socioeconomically disadvantaged seniors in a way that allows them to continue living in the community as opposed to going into a nursing home. We have over 1,000 team members, having hired 300 in the last six months, and we're on pace to hire another 400 in the next year
The Associate General Counsel (AGC) provides, and oversees external counsel providing, health care related legal services to senior management and other employees of Welbe Health, LLC and its affiliates. The AGC collaborates effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to promote the WelbeHealth values, team culture and mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on a wide variety of federal and state health care regulatory matters and assist in the development of operations related to such matters
- Prepare, review and negotiate contracts arising from a variety of activities and functions
- Assist with a variety of corporate matters, such as preparing meeting minutes, overseeing entity formation, maintaining corporate record books and drafting transactional agreements,
- Support the Compliance Program and provide legal advice related to compliance matters
- Work directly with outside counsel on issues requiring specialized legal consultation and serve as liaison with outside counsel on referred legal matters
- Maintain current knowledge of key federal and state health care law
Skills and Experience:
- 6-8 years of experience as a practicing attorney with a mix of experience in operations, corporate law and health care law. Law firm and in-house experience strongly preferred.
- Highly skilled in contract negotiating and drafting
- Proven ability to lead transactional and other multi-disciplinary matters with minimum oversight
- Practical knowledge of relevant federal health care laws (I.e. Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, HIPAA, Corporate Practice of Medicine)
- Ability to proactively anticipate and identify
