Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Houston, TX. Serve as an Acquisitions & Divestitures (A&D) Engineering Associate with responsibility for developing economic assumptions, performing customized asset/company valuation analyses, and actively participating in A&D and M&A transactions among others within the oil and gas industry. Organize and prepare presentations that explain industry trends, assess clients' situations to provide the necessary engineering/financial advice, and recommend strategies to meet client goals. Contribute to the Asset Valuation Process based on public and private data includes: Decline Curve Analysis, Type Curve Generation, Spacing Pattern Evaluation, Completion Design Analysis and Company inventory quantification and analysis. Engage in the due diligence process including but not limited to: creating comprehensive analysis of Lease Operating Expenses (LOE), Drilling and Completions costs (D&C), Rate Transient Analysis (RTA), and marketing and midstream contracts review and analysis. Create and maintain all internal Aries databases for corporate deals and divestitures. Provide key technical inputs and assumptions for the undeveloped asset update and maintain all Spotfire projects for the various basins in USA. Utilize Spotfire to find current performance trends in completion / engineering data. Participate in the due diligence process and technical review of Reserves-Based Lending (RBL) to ensure conformance with GS's underwriting criteria. Develop NAV models, including performing precedent transaction analysis for A&D transactions as well as supporting the firm's M&A transactions. Create and analyze financial models, help to manage transaction processes and assist in structuring transactions. Organize and prepare presentations that explain recent industry trends, current or past operator's activity, and other Oil & Gas technical analysis. Seek advanced methods to automate and / or improve key analysis workflows.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Petroleum Engineering with emphasis in financial modeling or a relevant field. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include two (2) years with: Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Prior experience must include one (1) year with: developing Upstream Oil and Gas Net Asset Value Models; running Aries, Spotfire, Access and other specialized oil and gas software; performing Oil and Gas Reserves-Based Lending (RBL) calculations and analysis; exposure to conventional Oil and Gas reservoirs within the US or international basins; and using IHS Enerdeq, Rystad Cube Platform, and Enverus Prism to build oil and gas assumptions and perform financial analysis. Prior experience must include: exposure to at least three unconventional basins in the US market such as Permian, Appalachia or Eagle Ford; creating and analyzing financial models to help manage transaction processes and assisting in structuring A&D transactions in Oil and Gas; performing Oil and Gas precedent transaction analysis for Acquisitions and Divestitures (A&D), in addition to corporate Oil and Gas Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A); performing Oil and Gas Lease Operating Statement Analysis; creating and presenting comprehensive management presentations and pitch materials to internal stakeholders and clients; and creating engineering workflow solutions.
