How you’ll make an impact:
The Information Systems Engineer will be focused on the design, development, configuration and support of various informatics software platforms that aid our scientific organizations in gaining new insights into their scientific data.
About the team:
The Laboratory Information Systems Team partners with 2seventybio’s R&D organizations. As a result, you will be working across a wide range of scientific disciplines and departmental functions.
How you’ll spend your time:
- Works in conjunction with IT business analysts to develop business requirements and use cases
- Develop, configure and support IT R&D computerized systems, for new and existing implementations
- Contributor to defining and executing on the IT R&D portfolio roadmap
- Participate in the continuous improvement of IT R&D solutions
- Conforms to coding conventions and best practices
- Works with IT R&D business analysts in developing user test scripts for software deliverables
Who you are and what you’ve accomplished:
- An advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Bioinformatics, or similar field
- Fundamental domain knowledge of the life sciences/biopharma space
- Experience developing workflows in Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN’s) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Demonstrated experience in configuring and creating custom plugins for Sapio
- Experience with defining, developing, and manipulating data sets
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages: Java, Python
- Experience with source code version control: GIT, SVN
- Experience with querying databases and using statistical computer languages: R, SQL
- Excellent organizational skills, proven ability to effectively plan and organize work activities to meet schedules and deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to effectively plan and organize work activities to meet schedules and deadlines
- Capable of critical thinking and problem solving
- Independently motivated and detail orientated
This position has hybrid flexibility for either our Cambridge, MA or our Seattle, WA site.*
