The Role:

As our Boston-based IT Engineer, you will be required to provide on-site support at our Boston office an average of 1 to 2 days per week(some weeks may be closer to 2-3), hence we are only looking for candidates who are in or around the Boston area and can get to the office weekly(Office is located in Fort Point / Seaport). The specific days may vary depending on the needs of the office and may include the most populated days, such as Wednesdays. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide sponsorship for this role at the moment.

What You’ll do:

  • Provide helpdesk support to employees using our Jira-based ticketing system.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to technical issues and service requests on Mac OS, Windows, and iOS systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and other devices to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network equipment, such as switches, routers, and firewalls, to ensure a reliable and secure network infrastructure.
  • Maintain the IT systems of our Boston office, including conference room audio and visual equipment, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Set up and configure new workstations and laptops for employees to support their productivity.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to develop and implement IT solutions that meet business needs and enhance overall system performance.
  • Document technical procedures and maintain IT inventory to ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all IT-related activities.
  • Participate in supporting SOC2, regulatory, and other compliance audits.

About You

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a similar degree, or an equivalent IT(1-3 years) work experience in administering Windows and Mac OS systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive results, with a willingness to go above and beyond to deliver exceptional work.
  • Experience providing IT support to a wide variety of individuals with both technical and non-technical backgrounds, as well as individual contributors up to the executive level.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills including experience with common issues such as authentication or authorization issues, Windows update failures, or system configuration gaps.
  • Knowledge of common networking protocols, equipment, and security.
  • Experience with a Jira-based ticketing system or similar tool for tracking work and knowledge base management.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Nice to Haves:

  • Knowledge and experience using Mac OS MDM-based management tools and approaches for security policy enforcement.
  • Knowledge of securing Windows systems using Azure AD and Intune or similar management tooling.

Physical Requirements for the job:

You may be expected to lift or carry up to 15-20 pounds of equipment as part of the regular job duties.

  • The expected salary range for this position will be between $60,000-70,000 per year including a yearly discretionary bonus incentive & equity
