Job Description

As an Associate IT Engineer in the Cloud Business Office, this position will be a support role to the Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) team and FinOps practice. This associate will partner with senior cloud engineers across the Enterprise Cloud Organization (ECO) to effectively build out the GRC and FinOps services. This role will include building and communicating out GRC and FinOps communication, architecture and security best practices, and end to end processes for these services.

Job Responsibilities & Competencies:
  • Partner w/ CBO GRC lead to create and review policy standards and strategies to ensure procedures and guidelines comply with cybersecurity frameworks, standards & industry benchmark.
  • Support senior team members with regular reporting and visualizing the status of identified KPI's and open risk items of the security program.
  • Maintain accurate Bill of IT detail through third party tooling and integration with IT Finance.
  • Assist with documenting FinOps best practices to be shared across cloud customer base.
  • Fast learner who is expected to grow technical skillset through on-the-job experience and online trainings.
  • Advise on systems scalability and development opportunities that can be utilized or adapted to meet business area objectives.
  • Relentlessly research and present forward opportunities to enhance operational and engineering excellence within the team and to partners.
  • Collaborate with team members to define requirements, solution architecture, and delivery planning activities

Qualifications:
  • Thorough understanding of server, storage, database, and application integration services with a foundational understanding of public cloud services.
  • Experience with software development fundamentals such as source code management, code quality rules and governance, and automated testing.
  • Customer focus, creativity, multitasking, prioritization and managing expectations for deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-driven continuous learner who stays current on emerging technologies.
  • Ability to communicate and build strong relationship with peers, senior engineers, and management.
  • Strong collaborator and willing to work both independently and part of a large team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • 1+ years of software development lifecycle experience and best practices.
  • 1+ years of infrastructure engineering or operational support.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$65,600 - $98,400
