Job Description

Is it possible for you to openly access your company’s financial data, or HR records? No, of course not. Did you know, however, that in hospitals across the country, any doctor, any nurse, or any person from any department with computer access can easily review your healthcare information? I know what you're thinking, and you're correct. Yes, that is a privacy violation; and there were 40 million of these breaches in 2020 alone. Crazy, right? This is the problem smart IT engineers (like you!) can solve.

The Protenus Healthcare Compliance Analytics platform is powered by artificial intelligence (AI) that ingests robust, unique data feeds to provide visibility into potential patterns of suspicious behavior that may otherwise go unnoticed. Our AI and advanced analytics empower subject matter experts to mitigate and ultimately reduce organizational risk — whether it's an employee improperly accessing patient records, or a clinician diverting medications — in an efficient, accurate, and scalable manner. If the opportunity to thwart these bad actors doesn’t excite you, maybe the opportunity to serve on a team filled with other engineers who do different work than you, and together, you will collaborate and influence the end result of this cutting-edge technology, will do the trick.

The Associate IT Engineer will work with Protenus leadership and other teams to determine the strategic IT needs of Protenus. In addition, this person will work with the IT Manager to translate those strategies into the required equipment and software, while providing direct user support .

You will help users by responding to support tickets and requests that range from problems with home internet connections, requests for new software, password resets, through providing access to various systems and data. This individual will work closely with the People Operations team during the hiring process to provision user accounts, prepare user laptops, and onboard users, and during the off-boarding process to deprovision accounts and retrieve laptops.  Lastly , the Associate IT Engineer will partner with the Security team to install and maintain security software and configurations for all user endpoints while also monitoring the security of our data and keeping the approved software list up to date.

The Associate IT Engineer will be required to go into the office on an “as needed” basis to install or maintain network and/or A/V equipment, provide support during in-person company events, and to manage laptop stock.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure end users have an excellent experience by taking a customer-service approach to all IT needs.
  • Work with Protenus employees to ensure that they have the proper equipment and software to empower them to adequately perform their job functions.
  • Take direction from the head of IT to implement IT projects.
  • Maintain and improve technical expertise, incorporate new technology as opportunities arise, and make our workforce happier and more productive.
  • Work collaboratively with the Security and Policy & Procedure teams.
Qualifications:
  • 1+  Years of experience with a customer facing role, IT preferred.
  • Strong communication both verbal and written.
  • Collaborative mindset with a sense of personal ownership for your work.
  • IT is primarily a customer service function. The Associate IT Engineer will demonstrate customer-service experience and an understanding of users’ needs.
  • Must be based in the Baltimore area.
  • Technical understanding of core IT technologies at use at Protenus:
    • End-user hardware: MacBook, iPhone, Android
    • Office hardware: Printers, A/V Hardware
    • Connectivity: Access, WiFi, VPN
    • Communications: Video conferencing, Phone systems, email, chat
    • Security: Authorization, Authentication, Encryption, Protection

Sponsorship: We are unable to offer visa/green card sponsorship at this time.

If you live in the area and would like to come in, great! If you are in town to meet with your team, even better! We welcome you (and dogs) anytime. We operate with "big person rules" and let you make the decision about what works best for you, your life and your family. Results > Location
