The Associate IT Operations Engineer will learn and master a wide swath of technologies which support GTI’s day to day business operations. Be ready to learn and grow beyond your current limits. Success in this role will allow for higher roles within IT. We are looking for someone to teach, learn, grow and do. 

The position is requires onsite work at our Shared Services Depot (technology warehouse) in Mundelein, IL 2-3 days week. Up to 50% travel is required for this role across the US. 

Responsibilities 
  • Work with hardware systems including PC laptops/desktops, retail Point of Sale (PoS) technology including but not limited to registers, receipt/label printers, PoS software, iPads/iOS devices, VoIP phones, etc.  
  • Infrastructure work that includes Dell and Nutanix servers, Windows Server 2016 and 2019, Meraki and Fortinet network equipment (switches, firewalls, wireless APs), manufacturing related IoT devices, ISP circuit connectivity, and interconnectivity technologies such as copper ethernet/single mode fiber optics. 
  • Lead the support of day-to-day IT operations  
  • Monitor of the helpdesk ticketing system (Fresh Service) - You will be the initial contact with sites for problem ticket resolution
  • Respond to our Solarwinds system monitoring platform 
Qualifications  
  • 1+ years of prior experience in at least one area of IT Operations 
  • Up to 50% travel is required for this role  
  • Experience with troubleshooting, repairing, fixing, installing, and maintaining various IT systems both end-user hardware related and technology infrastructure related 
  • Strong network, server, and end-user computer equipment troubleshooting skills are a must 
  • Candidates will be expected to participate in after hours, weekend, and holiday on-call support rotations 
  • This role will require extensive physical activity from time to time including but not limited to lifting 50lbs, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and boxing and unboxing equipment. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for this role. You will be dealing with our internal customers, so a professional demeanor is expected.  
  • And, as always, other duties as assigned.

  • Must pass any and all required background checks  
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry  
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
