Position Overview

The Associate IT Project Manager will provide support to ensure business objectives are met and accomplished on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. This position will partner with business leaders to share best practices and develop effective strategies to deliver on business needs. The Associate IT Project Manager will also be accountable to work with cross-functional teams to deliver smaller-scale projects.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Work on projects of low complexity in a tactical manner and provide project management support on larger initiatives.
  • Manage one or more small project or system enhancements to support business goals, as needed.
  • Provides support on documentation, scheduling, and issue and risk management.
  • Act as a problem solver to drive decisions.
  • Assist with connecting with stakeholders and planning for team meetings.
  • Prepare status reports and modify schedules and plans, as needed.
  • Keep management, team, and business areas informed of project status and related issues.
  • Coordinate and respond to requests for changes from original specifications.
  • Follow established project management practices, management of scope, requirements, issues, and risks.
  • Create project schedule and utilize the schedule to communicate and manage the work.
  • Manage project budget, as needed.
  • Ensure that all required project management deliverables are created and accurate.
  • Prepare project for governance gate approvals.
  • Establish positive working relationships with stakeholders and team members.
  • Partner with project teams to help define the project objectives and employ the right level of governance and process.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence and persuade.
  • Results orientation focus.
  • Ability to learn, grasp, and communicate technical concepts.
  • Apply strong facilitation and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability and means to travel between local Exact Sciences locations.
  • Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a project management capacity.
  • Basic knowledge of project management concepts and skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic business and technical process.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing software development projects using agile methodology.
  • PMI Project Management Certification.
