The Associate IT Systems Administrator is responsible for discovering solutions to challenging opportunities. Prioritization, efficiency, and attention to detail are key attributes to bring to this role. The Associate IT System Administrator's Day is spent monitoring several systems and applications, contributing to the overall success metrics of the IT organization. Your impacts contribute to our knowledge base, innovations and the overall IT experience for nCino's internal and external stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Learn and understand a variety of nCino internal systems, and apply a solution-oriented mindset to identify system inefficiencies and opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with internal business and IT stakeholders to understand success drivers of system implementations and be able to recommend changes and enhancements to meet business objectives
  • Under the general direction of the team lead, oversee the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
  • Proactively identify areas for system optimization by running diagnostics, identifying and prioritizing system issues through appropriate assessment of risk and impact, and document the timely resolution of issues
  • Create and deliver documentation and technical training specifications to IT staff and other stakeholders for planning and implementing upgrades to IT infrastructure
  • Perform, or delegate to Help Desk team where appropriate, regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Lead desktop and helpdesk changes and enhancements, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment performs optimally with limited disruptions
  • Assist system management related to capacity, storage planning, and database performance of responsible systems

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or combination of equivalent experience and education
  • 0-2 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud based systems/SaaS and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools
  • Ability to understand, contribute to, and implement IT strategy
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with command of the English language
  • Professional presence with ability to engage audiences of varied size and at all levels
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to inexperienced users
  • Time management skills

Desired:

  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields
  • Experience in SaaS or other enterprise IT environments.
  • Experience with Atlassian/Jira Product Management Software
  • Scripting experience (HTML, PHP, Shell, Bash, Python, etc.)
  • Kandji/JAMF administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune Endpoint Manager.
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki networking hardware and administration
