Associate Legal Counsel

Ibotta is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of business acumen and legal expertise. With a focus on compliance and stakeholder communication, they will play a crucial role in facilitating agreements, managing risk, and advising on employment practices for Ibotta's extensive workforce.

This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office, (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.

What you will be doing:

• Draft and negotiate complex legal agreements, including commercial contracts, master services agreements, statements of work, insertion orders, marketing agreements, vendor agreements, and data license agreements.

• Employ negotiation skills that optimize collaboration across departments, merging business acumen with legal expertise to facilitate the efforts of various teams

• Ensure agreements and transactions with customers and partners comply with Ibotta’s policies and applicable laws

• Keep internal and external stakeholders informed on key legal and regulatory developments affecting Ibotta's business and industry

• Provide legal support in connection with developing risk-management processes and resolving potential compliance issues

• Provide comprehensive guidance to Ibotta's HR team on a wide spectrum of employment practices and issues

What we are looking for:

• 1+ years of professional experience in a law firm or in-house role

• J.D. from an accredited law school required, with the flexibility to successfully pass the Colorado bar within the initial 6-9 months of employment at Ibotta if not already admitted

• Understanding of general contract drafting and contract construction principles, standard contract provisions, and general negotiation skills

• Exposure to employment practices law, securities law and commercial litigation preferred
