Associate Manager, Cost Accounting (hybrid)
Job Description
In this role, you will support the manufacturing business initiatives by providing sound financial insight, accurate cost accounting, provide inventory analysis and controls, detailed analysis and objectives, to ensure the organization's best opportunity to meet its financial goals. You will also assist on the annual budget, cost roll and any other project work required to fulfill the responsibilities of the accounting group representing the site. You will also be responsible for any support of the accounting group.
The candidate will need to live within a reasonable commuting distance to our Arlington, TN facility (Relocation to the Memphis area is available). You will need to be in the office 3 days a week but will have the flexibility to work from home on the other days.

What you will do
- Ensure product cost activities completed on a daily basis. Consists of determining that all the necessary information is in the system (bill of material, router, etc.), and then "rolling" the cost in JD Edwards. Communicate with Purchasing to ensure new purchased parts and materials have the correct value
- Oversees closing activities including, but not limited to, ensuring that all monthly queries are submitted accurately and timely, and the preparation of various journal entries to close
- Prepares weekly Reporting for various plant metrics, Raw Material, Component, and WIP details, and any other reports needed on a weekly basis
- Assists with the preparation, reviews, and analysis of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts as well as monthly operating results
- Review system documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy and consistency of costs across all product families
- Assists with annual updating of standard costs. Providing analysis throughout the process
- Analyze and research significant fluctuations of current costs and variances to ensure the accuracy of the future annual cost effort. Making recommendations on resolution.
- Partners with other Costing team members various manufacturing duties
- Follow good accounting practices in alignment with internal and external audit requirements
- May lead the completion of projects or assignments including planning assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc.
What you need
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance required
- CPA or MBA a plus
- 6+ years of experience in increasing responsibility in accounting and/or finance, or master data
- JD Edwards and AS400 system experience use is preferred
Travel Percentage: 10%
