We are currently recruiting for an Associate Manager, Data Science to join Altria Advanced Analytics department in Richmond, VA, or we are open to remote work arrangements.

What you'll be doing: • Mine and combine multiple data sources to complete descriptive and diagnostic analyses • Leverage big data cloud computing resources to design, test and implement new analytical solutions to measure, predict, and influence business outcomes • Integrate a variety of data sources (e.g., retail point-of-sale, shipments, financial, consumer, geospatial) to proactively evaluate and identify consumer marketing business opportunities • Lead the application of a variety of advanced analytical methods (e.g., machine learning, statistical, econometric) to develop consumer centric insights • Synthesize, translate, and communicate analyses to inform and influence business leaders • Collaborate with brand marketing, in-market and digital activation, and data engineering teams to define, scope, and deliver data-driven solutions against multiple priorities • Help productionize and deploy analytical model solutions, and support their ongoing tracking and maintenance to ensure their efficacy

What we want you to have: • Bachelor's degree in Decision Science, Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field. Master's or other graduate level degree a plus • 4 - 5+ years of progressively responsible work experience with data and analytics; CPG experience a plus • Ability to independently conduct complex data manipulation, model analyses, and synthesize results • Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and Python programming languages; familiarity with Apache Spark & Databricks preferred • Firm grasp of basic statistical/economic principles and a general understanding of advanced analysis techniques • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate abstract technical concepts with non-technical audiences • A sense of urgency and genuine curiosity • The courage and confidence to discuss and debate across all levels of the organization
