Associate Manager, Data Science and Engineering (Remote)
Job Description
As the Associate Manager, Data Science and Engineering, you will create and implement the strategy, design and continuous improvement of Stryker Spine's data management framework and infrastructure supporting large-scale production reporting, advanced analytics, forecasting, statistical research initiatives, and self-service activities.

What You Will Do
- Lead the vision, strategy, and execution of data architecture, engineering, and statistical concepts to support the growth and changing needs of Spine analytics.
- Function as the data architecture, engineering, and statistical subject matter expert to drive the strategic vision for alignment and consistency across the enterprise.
- Investigate and implement new advanced analytics methods and data sources to support the needs of the business.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Analytics team to identify, support, and create scalable solutions.
- Lead the creation of repositories, development/maintenance processes, guidelines, standards, and share recommendations throughout the enterprise.
- Mentor and influence in the troubleshooting and correction of complex data engineering, architecture, and analytical issues.
- Lead the prioritization of team projects/tasks to ensure proper tracking and delivery of requests.
What You Need
- Bachelor's degree in Data Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or other applicable field required or equivalent experience.
- Masters in Data Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or other applicable field degree preferred.
- 6+ years data engineer, data architecture, database administration, data science, information services, or related experience or 12 years without degree required.
- Experience with data transformation, cleansing, data modeling and database concepts required.
- Experience with DAX and Power BI is required.
- A background of leading and directing technical projects delivering on business priorities including stakeholder management required.
- Cognos administration experience is highly preferred.
- Experience in direct leadership of teams preferred.
- Experience with business intelligence, analytics platforms, tools, database, and data warehouse technologies (e.g., Power BI, SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Storage, Machine Learning, Analysis Services, DevOps) preferred.
$95,100 - $204,000 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
Travel Percentage: 10%
