Associate Manager, DRAM Product Business Enablement

What You’ll Do

Samsung Device Solutions America is seeking to fill a Staff / Senior Engineer to support Tier 1/2 customers for DRAM products. This is a customer-facing role responsible for coordinating product qualification, and failure analysis of advanced memory products such as LPDDR, DDR components and DIMMs, HBM, or GDDR used in customer’s applications. The role requires a subject matter expert capable of facilitating the exchange of information to address key concerns related to product specifications, application, platform debug, quality, compliance and ad hoc inquiries. The role requires the tracking and reporting issues for visibility, escalation as needed and follow-up.

The memory product planning/Business Enablement team in the US, in collaboration with Korean HQ, is in the front and center of road mapping next-generation memory products (DDR/HBM/GDDR/LPDDR). Working with customers and eco-system partners in the Automotive Industry, this team defines the memory portfolio/specs/features for the largest semiconductor company in the world. This team consists of professionals who possess a fine mix of high level technical understanding as well as business acumen.

Location:
Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose Headquarters 3-5 days per week on , with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time 

• Manage customer engineering teams, procurement engineering and other technical stakeholders to ensure Samsung DRAM products are designed-in and qualified on customer platforms
• Set the DRAM product enablement strategy based on understandings of customers’ platform development strategy and product development roadmap
• Support key customers through DRAM memory enablement, new technology roadmap review, issues troubleshooting, diagnose and root cause of system memory failures.

What You Bring

• Bachelors with 5+ years or Master's with 3+ years of PhD with 0 years of experience in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree preferred (MBA good to have)
• 5+ years of professional work experience in semiconductor technology, or memory field with customer facing responsibilities
• Product management/development/planning experience
• Solid experience with DRAM memory products such as DDR, LPDDR, GDDR and HBM
• Good understanding of DRAM SI/PI and timing analysis as well as performance parameters.
• Familiar with modern computer architectures and its components (CPU, Memory, Networking, PCIe.).
• Good understanding of DRAM datasheets and analysis of DRAM spec
• Strong communication skills
• Leadership skills for driving customer enablement strategies and debug activities.
• Korean language fluency is a plus
• 5-10% travel requires

PREFERED SKILLS 

• Background in DRAM memory design or system architecture
• Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing and fab processes
• Project Management skill and leadership
