How you’ll make an impact:
2seventy bio is seeking an Associate Manager, Payroll & Equity in our Finance department with experience working with ADP Workforce Now to assist with all aspects of U.S. payroll operations along with equity experience. The ideal candidate would have a strong attention to detail and ability to balance several different tasks at one time. This position will be a key member of the payroll team responsible for helping U.S. payroll operations for 400+ employees (and growing!) and to help provide strong customer service in a dynamic, exciting environment.

How you’ll spend your time:
- Input US payroll on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring new hire information, terminations, and all other changes are accurately reflected
- Prepare payroll-related journal entries and account reconciliation
- Provide insight on fluctuations and changes in accounts, as requested by the Associate Director, Payroll
- Coordinate with HR business partners, Benefits, and Equity to ensure accuracy of information used in payroll
- Provide customer service to employees of all levels on payroll related requests, including troubleshooting of issues and respond in an accurate, timely manner
- Manage any issues with our verification of employment vendor
- Assist with new state set-ups under the direction of the Associate Director, Payroll
- Prepare for year-end W-2s by assisting with EOY entries and reconciliation of all accounts to ensure accuracy of W-2’s
- Monthly processing of new equity grants, working closely with People & Culture and Legal team to ensure new equity awards are properly approved based upon grant guidelines approved by the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors
- Managing vesting and release of restricted stock units and performance-based restricted stock units, review tax withholding accuracy and work with Solium for processing vesting’s timely and preparing entries for payroll
- Responding to equity and operational-related inquiries from employees and others
- Managing the Employee Stock Purchase Plan and reviewing associated payroll deductions for each pay-cycle, processing semi-annual purchase and managing enrollment of new offering
- Ensuring equity system is up to date in terms of employee data including terminations, department updates, change in status and tax rates
- Coordinate with various auditors on required support for audits
- Assist the Associate Director, Payroll with ad hoc issues as they arise
Who you are and what you’ve accomplished:
- An understanding of payroll processes and a desire to learn what is required to successfully run biweekly payrolls for multiple states (currently approx. 20+) in the US
- Experience with supporting an equity administration system (Morgan Stanley is a plus)
- Has solid attention to detail and can perform effective self-reviews before submitting work taking full ownership from beginning to end
- BS/BA required, degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Experience preferred but not required for year-end W-2 entries including reconciliation of year end fringe benefits
- Flexible/adaptable to the dynamic work environment and strong dedicated team player
- Can work in all Microsoft products, but is especially comfortable with Excel and how to use the tool for large amounts of data effectively
- Direct experience in entering payroll within ADP Workforce Now is a plus
- Familiarity with Oracle HCM (cloud) is a plus
- Familiarity with biotech benefits/ incentives is a plus
