Role/Responsibilities

Title: Associate Managing Director

Location: 7 World Trade Center, 250 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007

Duties: Manage credit analysis of assigned industry portfolios, including addressing credit issues in a timely and consistent manner and ability to assess companies' capital structure. Manage ratings process effectively, including chairing rating committees, for which experience in wide range of sectors, including banks and non-bank financial institutions is required to ensure ratings accuracy. Ensure that policies, procedures, and best practices are consistently applied at all times. Develop in-depth knowledge of assigned industry sectors and take thought leadership initiatives to enhance Moody's analytics and focus on high quality market engagement. Actively engage in the roll out and monitoring of ESG Issuer Profile Scores (IPS) and Credit Impact Scores (CIS) and ongoing focus on ESG, for which experience in other industries, such as banks and non-bank financial institutions is required to ensure scorings consistency. Develop and implement research and outreach plan with team and oversee execution and quality. Monitor changes in research environment and drive new ideas and initiatives. Lead outreach efforts and participate in meetings with issuers, intermediaries, and investors, requiring up-to-date knowledge of the industry covered by the team as well as developments in other industries, such banks and non-bank financial institutions. Convey Moody's opinion with transparency and robust analysis. Build and maintain high quality relationships with senior management for the corporate issuers covered by the team. Provide mentoring and coaching for best practices for internal and external meetings. Be involved in hiring, developing, and motivating team members, working closely with HR as appropriate. Harmonize analytical approaches, implement new policies and procedures, and proactively drive process improvements in close cooperation with the Managing Director. Undertake and coordinate ad hoc projects to advance franchise and support global and regional management priorities. Champion DE&I initiatives and ensure appropriate team attendance to and engagement in DE&I events/discussions. Demonstrate/model MCO Core Success Factors and Leadership Success Factors with a positive influence on the team. Domestic and international travel required approximately 10% of the time. Destination and frequency impossible to predict.

Qualifications

Requirements: Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related quantitative field plus seven (7) years of experience in credit analysis and portfolio management. Full term of experience must include the following: overseeing credit risk assessments, including application of relevant ratings methodologies; applying credit skills including ability to assess companies' capital structures from strong experience in the financial sector, in speculative grade and investments grade rated companies; extensive understanding of US debt capital markets, particularly role of credit intermediaries, such as banks and non-bank financial institutions; ability to assess interconnectedness between the financial sector and corporate sector covered by the team; thinking strategically and executing strategies within a team and across the company; understanding complex analytic and strategic issues and influencing audiences of different skill and knowledge levels; ability to communicate effectively and present to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders; managing a team of credit analysts with experience in multiple sectors, including developing individuals, leveraging diverse skills, and delegating responsibilities; conducting quantitative financial modeling and statistical analysis in credit markets, including US financial institutions sector; and analyzing deal documents and authoring credit opinions, issuer analyses, thematic research reports, and internal research memos; contributing to the delivery of the DE&I strategy to be able to attract and retain a diverse workforce. For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $277,410 to $325,700, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
