Position Summary: We are a growing consulting firm looking for a dynamic Associate Marketing Manager to support and lead strategic field marketing and content generation efforts for Tidal Basin Group and all its entities including Tidal Basin Government Consulting, Tidal Basin Caribe, Tidal Basin Federal, TB Customer Relations, TB Technologies, TB Mosaic Financial, as well as entities and initiatives defined by DC Capital Partners (DCCP).
We are a growing consulting firm looking for a dynamic Associate Marketing Manager to support and lead strategic field marketing and content generation efforts. This role will support the Sr. Director of Marketing in executing the marketing strategies and will work with a cross-functional team of marketing and communications professionals.
The candidate must be a self-starter with a bias toward action and rolling up their sleeves to get things done. This individual will play a pivotal role in creating and maintaining marketing campaigns and strategies for Tidal Basin Group and all its entities, including Tidal Basin Government Consulting; Tidal Basin Caribe; Tidal Basin Federal; the RP Enterprise Solutions suite of services including TB Customer Relations, TB Technologies, TB Mosaic Financial; and entities and initiatives as defined by our owner, DC Capital Partners (DCCP).
The candidate will track, coordinate, and implement marketing and sales deliverables/tactics such as conferences and event management, content development and editing, advertising, social media, design, email communication, proposal management, digital campaigns, website content updates / administration and assist in traffic of final assets to appropriate stakeholders. A priority of this role will be to lead the coordination and logistics for conferences, assist with campaign development and implementation tactics and collaborate with digital marketing by way of website management, coordination, and updates.
This position requires strong verbal / written communication skills. Must be self-motivated, responsible, and confident with a commitment to integrity. Must possess high attention to detail, be very organized and able to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Approximately 20-35% travel may be required to support, lead and execute marketing strategies and tactics for Tidal Basin.Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Content Writing and Editing
    • Produce well-researched content for a variety of platforms including articles, case studies, websites, blogs, videos, email marketing campaigns, advertising campaigns, social media posts, press releases, infographics, whitepapers, proposals and more.
    • Assist in organizing writing schedules to complete drafts of content or finished projects within deadlines.
    • Utilize industry best practices and familiarity with the organization’s mission to inspire ideas and content.
    • Follow an editorial calendar, collaborating with members and firms to ensure timely delivery of materials.
    • Use search engine optimization (SEO) strategies in writing to maximize the online visibility of a website in search results.
    • Take an active role in new content ideas and deliverables that contribute to corporate and firm goals.
    • Coordinate with third-party content creators as needed to review new content created by the partner firms to ensure content meets corporate brand and content / messaging standards.
  • Branding
    • Assist in implementation of corporate branding initiatives.
    • Assist with policing branded materials and content to ensure they meet brand standards.
  • Website
    • Assist in adding site elements and updates.
    • Update content as necessary for campaign goals and to reflect current SEO trends.
  • Email
    • Develop and implement direct email marketing campaigns.
    • Upgrade email templates using graphics, personalization, and advanced features.
    • Ensure prompt and accurate communication with clients via email to minimize unsubscribes.
  • Sales Enablement
    • Develop contact databases for lead generation.
    • Develop collateral and sales enablement materials.
    • Provides best judgement on use of language utilized in marketing/advertising materials.
    • Provides requested materials and generates materials independently of team from start to finish until a QA/QC is required.
    • Uses best judgement to update out of date collateral, presentations and articles based on feedback from technical SMEs.
  • Digital
    • Assist in producing and distributing digital web and social media reports and communication with Tidal Basin stakeholders.
    • Assist in digital paid and organic lead generation campaigns, measuring results and providing reports as needed.
  • Marketing Tools
    • Assist in implementation of marketing tools to track and monitor marketing campaigns, sales, and service satisfaction results.
    • Assist in organization, management and implementation of internal asset databases, SharePoint, Digital Asset Systems, Project Management Systems, and other 3rd party applications.
  • Campaigns
    • Develops and proposes new campaigns in a well thought out manner to ensure effectiveness and enhancement of our services.
    • Provides content and generates content based on knowledge of the industry and components of a campaign.
    • Collaborates with internal SMEs and holds independent meetings where using best judgment to 1 – lead the call and 2 – provide content based on the call.
  • Conferences
    • Maintains and develops conference calendar, cost tracker and ensures Zoho platform reflects tracker updates.
    • Collaborates with vendors and chooses booth assignments, provides names of internal attendees, secures payments and manages conference requirements.
    • Contacts conference vendors and conducts meetings independently and provides required materials without supervision – based on knowledge of conference profess.
    • Acts as lead point of contact in conjunction with Senior Director of Marketing for all internal and external conference and event stakeholders.
  • Proposals and Billable Projects
    • Works with Senior Director of Marketing to enhance proposal language for all Tidal Basin entities, including DCCP firms as indicated by executive leadership.
    • Supports strategic and federal proposal support as needed.
    • Supports billable projects as needed.
  • General/Administrative
    • Coordinate various marketing strategies for business and functional units within Tidal Basin.
    • Develop annual strategic goals, objectives, and budget for marketing initiatives
    • Communicate between applicable stakeholders as necessary.
    • Use independent judgment to coordinate, lead and collaborate with third-party vendors and partners as follows:
      • Vendor Management – uses independent judgement when managing external vendors based on industry and marketing knowledge.
      • Promotional Vendors – Collaborates with marketing team and then utilizes information to develop promotional items plan in addition to determining and determine conference and recruiting swag.
      • Determines quality of product, receptiveness of product externally, logo placement and color, and design of product, and has final say when team is indecisive of color/product.
      • Determines quantity of products developed based on own knowledge and experience with conference receptiveness to promotional items.
      • Partners – spearheads meetings and content generation with corporate partners .

Preferred Skills and Abilities:The candidate should possess the following:

  • Technical
    • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with creating and executing marketing content for a variety of platforms.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Knowledge and understanding of CRM and email marketing systems, preferably Zoho
    • Proficiency in utilizing Adobe Creative Suite, notably InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator experience preferred.
    • Knowledge and understanding of developing and managing Google PPC campaigns preferred.
    • Knowledge and understanding of other paid digital marketing platforms for streaming apps, television, radio, etc. preferred.
  • Communication
    • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across diverse audiences and influence cross functionality.
    • Provide strong verbal and written communications for the firm including but not limited to press releases, corporate blogs, email blasts, and assistance with proposal writing and editing as needed.
    • Effectively communicate creative concepts and respond quickly to business needs.
  • Organization and Soft Skills
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data sets to determine trends, establish strategies, and make decisions.
    • Use project management and communication skills to organize and prioritize operations initiatives and multiple projects to meet competing deadlines.
    • Ability to multi-task and be strategic, creative, and innovative in a dynamic, fast paced team environment.
    • Proven ability to “surge” level of effort in times of need (i.e. when the company is helping its clients manage through a disaster, emergency, or other crisis).
    • Self-starter with a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Possess energy, passion, and a desire to deliver innovative, successful solutions for internal and external clients.
    • Quick-thinker and highly responsive.

    • Willingness to work outside normal business hours when necessary to meet surge need to address a disaster scenario.
    • Willingness to travel when necessary for conferences, events, meetings, etc.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, English or equivalent combination of training and/or certifications and experience.
  • Years of Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of comprehensive marketing and communications experience in the professional services industry and/or marketing agency.
