Location: Marcus Thomas is based in Cleveland, Ohio
WORKING ARRANGEMENT:
- In-person/hybrid for Northeast Ohio residents
- Remote for residents in the following states: AL, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MI, NC, NH, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA

The role
Overall, the associate media director will serve as the lead on assigned accounts, by managing development, execution and monitoring of media plans for selected clients, and will also be a key participant in the department’s and agency’s growth. Other specific responsibilities include:
- Manage and serve as the lead on assigned accounts.
- Higher responsibility for budget management as well as agency productivity management, scoping and budgeting scoped time.
- Serve as subject matter expert and help to educate agency staff.
- Participates in CoP Make a Mark plan and team development.
- Serve as subject matter expert and help to educate agency staff on specialty areas (paid social, CTV, 1PD, programmatic media, etc.)
- Support and participates in new business presentations and pitches.
- Manages media personnel, setting quality standards and enforcing adherence to those standards.
- Analyzes data, assesses advertising KPIs, and identifies media and platforms best suited to reach our target audiences for effective advertising planning.
- Develops a test-measure-learn approach and produces clear and detailed reporting, leading to data-driven decisions that produce business results.
- Oversees selection and implementation of ad technologies that enable campaign tracking and optimization of media and audiences.

Leadership
- Develop and nurture ongoing partnerships with key clients, especially at the senior level.
- Strategize, communicate and execute staffing decisions with the Partner of Media and Analytics.
- Foster an environment that inspires and encourages intelligent risk taking, innovation and creativity.
- Participate in agency/departmental task forces, project work and new business.
- Keep abreast of current events in target markets that impact clients’ businesses.
- Organize client education to better understand media landscape.

- You will help the rest of the agency, particularly account management, creative and analytics, better understand the function of media marketing and how it helps our clients.
- You will play a key role in supporting the department’s reputation as a best-in-class media provider.
Standard Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in marketing, communications or related field. Experience working within an advertising or media agency with large account groups on multimedia channels is a plus.
- Basic understanding of agency P/L
- Solid knowledge of agency process and business
- Advanced understanding of how media/search works together
- Advanced user of MRI-Simmons, Kantar, Pathmatics, Statista, and SQAD.
