What You’ll Do
The Associate, Mergers & Acquisitions is responsible for acquiring the businesses and brands we own and manage. You will work with a lean, experienced team on the execution of mergers & acquisitions and have primary responsibility for the financial modeling, analysis, and diligence of potential acquisition targets. The role of an Associate will provide broad exposure to the different elements of a transaction and provide meaningful engagement with senior executives at Authentic and target companies.
What You'll be Working on
- Evaluate prospective deals and conduct due diligence on target companies across consumer and entertainment brands
- Perform financial modeling and valuation analyses of public and private companies
- Develop investment summaries and materials to be presented to Authentic executive management and board members
- Negotiate transactions including mergers, acquisitions, minority investments, and strategic partnerships
- Review and develop key transaction documents including purchase agreements, share sale agreements, transition services agreements, license agreements, operating agreements, etc.
- Create initial roadmaps and post-closing strategy for newly acquired brands and businesses
- Facilitate the integration of newly acquired businesses and brands into Authentic
- Lead the sale of operating and other assets to Authentic partners
- Conduct strategic assessments of industry segments and growth areas
- Source M&A opportunities
- Manage relationships with key transaction partners at investment banks, accounting firms and other 3rd parties

Must Haves
- Attention to detail and the adaptability to work within a dynamic work environment
- Strong communication skills, a demonstrated ability to write effectively
- Deep understanding and proficiency of excel
- Strong experience building company models with full P&L, cash flow and balance sheet detail and mechanics.
- Solid knowledge of the consumer retail and entertainment industries is desirable.
- A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with team members and possess an exceptional work ethic
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including financial modeling and financial statement analysis
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to articulate and present complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Strong command of PowerPoint
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple assignments simultaneously
- Desire to be part of close-knit group operating in an intensive environment and entrepreneurial firm culture
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (MBA a plus) with an exceptional record of academic achievement
- Experience in investment banking, corporate development and private equity is preferred
Primary Location Salary Range:
$160,000 - $180,000
