Job Summary
Cleveland Clinic Ventures (CCV) invests, as the venture capital arm of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (CCF), in medical technology, therapeutic, diagnostic, and digital health companies. The CCV team enables and supports physician innovators at CCF and enhances the entrepreneurial culture through the creation and nurturing of companies that are positioned to disrupt the status quo. CCV develops, finances, and grows these companies by working closely with founders, entrepreneurs, and co-investors as a value-added partner.

Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Support the investment evaluation and execution process, including screening incoming opportunities, conducting quantitative and qualitative due diligence to support effective decision making, developing cogent investment memos and investment committee presentations, and engaging in transaction executions.
  • Contribute to the group's efforts with respect to strategic engagement, including inventors, management and board members, Innovations team members, inventors, and Cleveland Clinic caregivers and executives.
  • Build critical capabilities in the investment analysis effort and in the field of innovation in medical technology, life sciences, and digital health.
  • Contribute to the team's success through participation in portfolio reporting, events, presentations and general activities.
  • Participates as a member on the Newco team, engages screening incoming opportunities, conducting quantitative and qualitative due diligence to support decision making, developing cogent investment memos and investment committee presentations and engaging in transaction executions.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education:
  • Bachelor's degree Business, Engineering, Physical or Life Science, Technology, Mathematics or similar field of study.
  • Advanced degree preferred.


Certifications:
  • N/A


Complexity of Work:
  • Ability to work with numerous technologies including multiple databases, spreadsheets, word documents, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent project management and product management skills and experience.


Work Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in healthcare including specific transaction experience, with expertise in venture-stage investments preferred.
  • An analytical approach to evaluating opportunities, with a strong financial acumen.
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills, including budgeting and forecasting as well as market analysis


Physical Requirements:
  • Requires frequent sitting, normal or corrected vision and manual dexterity sufficient to perform work on a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to walk to various locations to attend meetings.


Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
