Associate Operations Support Specialist

JOB SUMMARY
The VelocityEHS Associate Operations Support Specialist provides the backend operational expertise needed to help the Service Operations team meet or exceed customer expectations. They assist the project team in performing Safety Data Sheet (SDS) library build and review projects. As opposed to almost anyone who can perform a Google search and find many common SDSs, the Operations Support Specialist digs deeper to locate the harder-to-find SDSs - the ones requiring investigative techniques and reasoning, persistence, and solid people skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs second-level SDS obtainment needs unable to be satisfied by level-one staff, including: internet research, manufacturer website lookup, direct manufacturer contact via phone or email, and VelocityEHS SDS Library search.
• Conducts quality assurance on SDS obtainment and indexing performed by vendors and automated processes.
• Performs SDS file obtainment, editing, organization and indexing.
• Documents various project metrics, including hours, SDS request efforts, and project progress.
• Communicates notable issues to project stakeholders.
• Updates and maintains internal manufacturer relationship management guide.
• Performs other SDS-related tasks, including file obtainment, conversion to PDF, editing, organization, quality assurance, data entry, and indexing.
• Completes ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned by Services leadership.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent work experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented, methodical, persistent, and innovative
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and especially Excel)
• Proficient with internet browsers and in internet research
• Ability to complete quality work within agreed upon deadlines
• Ability to work both independently, with minimal supervision, or as part of a team

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets and the Globally Harmonized System
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat/Distiller (PDF)
• Strong organization skills with the ability to handle a diverse and significant workload
• Proven commitment to deliver outstanding customer service
• Experience with SharePoint and Workfront (or similar project management software)
