Associate Originator

Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

The Associate Originator will support the commercial team in identifying, negotiating, and executing strategic gas supply arrangements feeding Venture Global’s LNG facilities. The role will require engaging and onboarding new counterparties, while building on existing relationships with key suppliers. The Associate Originator will collaborate with the analytics team to develop a strong understanding of natural gas fundamentals impacting Venture Global’s portfolio of LNG facilities.

Responsibilities may include:

• Identifying and developing business opportunities that add value to the gas supply portfolio
• Managing existing customer relationships and expanding current activities with key counterparties
• Researching public information and attending networking events to identify new counterparties
• Onboarding new customers, overseeing the NAESB process
• Supporting the Origination team in progressing active deals through evaluation, negotiation and execution including providing proposals to counterparties, reviewing/revising commercial terms of the agreement, working with credit and legal departments and advancing deals through the final approval process
• Monitoring key developments in the physical gas market and conducting market research to identify trends and provide fundamental support towards gas supply efforts
• Collaborating with the gas scheduling team to understand current and future flow dynamics on Venture Global’s transportation capacity and surrounding pipeline capacity
• Monitoring pipeline postings for generally available capacity, capacity releases and maintenance affecting VG and tariff changes impacting VG operations
• Evaluating transportation/storage capacity and monitoring capacity release activity
• Analyzing locational pricing to determine “fair value” for gas purchases
• Draft senior management presentation supporting Venture Global’s gas supply strategy

Desired Qualifications (Education, Experience & Skills)

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, supply chain, or related field
• 1 or more years of experience in gas operations, marketing, or risk management
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Inquisitive and Analytical nature
