As a member of the ProShares ProFunds Portfolio Management Team, take an active role in the daily management and repositioning of indexed and actively managed ETFs and Mutual Funds. Implement assigned investment duties and provide support for assigned funds.
Essential Job Functions[1]:
- Working under direction, and within established investment policy guidelines, participate in the daily team management and repositioning of a family of indexed and active trader friendly funds having long, short and leveraged investment objectives benchmarking broad market indices, sector indices, and fixed income securities or alternative investments. Utilizing an Eze Order Management System and accounting for real-time shareholder activity, market movement, index changes, and corporate actions, determine and effect efficient solutions for the repositioning of each portfolio in order to meet each Funds daily benchmark investment objective. Strategies generally incorporate heavy use of derivative products including swap, futures and forwards. This position incorporates elements of portfolio management and trading roles.
- Communicate and effect final trading decisions with broker-dealers either telephonically or electronically, through a variety of electronic trading platforms, or through another team member.
- Participate in the oversight of a variety of operational, reconciliation and maintenance functions, including daily confirmation of NAV calculations, monitoring and implementation of index changes and corporate actions, and reconciliation of shareholder activity.
- Perform or assist in related activities such as management of the proxy voting process, counterparty credit analysis, model and systems development, and compliance monitoring & reporting.
- Perform analytics pertaining to ProShares, competitors and benchmarks. Data and analyses will revolve around fund and index performance, transaction costs, and asset flows. Perform other investment performance analysis as needed.
- Participate in various research projects and product development efforts.
- Provide some support in new business activities and relationship management.
- Participate in training Portfolio Analysts
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree and Advanced degree required and/or completed CFA; or progress towards AD or CFA with 3+ years related experience; or 5+ years applicable experience.
- Global trading knowledge and understanding or exposure to global indices, i.e., MCSI or FTSE indexes
- Experience with trading systems (Order Management Systems) a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent math, statistics, quantitative and analytical skills.
- Excel proficiency required. VBA macro skills desirable.
- Understanding of derivative securities including futures, forwards, and swap.
- Knowledge of basic financial theory as it relates to asset allocation, efficient frontiers, portfolio construction and security selection.
- Security or derivative trading experience desirable.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, Barra, Reuters, Wilshire, Factset, Oasys and other industry standard systems desirable.
- Strong oral, written and presentational skills desirable.
- Familiarity with securities regulation desirable.
