What You'll Do
Provide subject matter expertise for ongoing support of applications deployed to OCCβs non production AWS environments and supporting 3rd party applications. Identify root causes and automate solutions in support of development.
Work under general supervision; typically reports to a project leader or manager. Manage day to day activities when called upon.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.
Design, build, and maintain Kafka infrastructure, including clusters, topics, brokers, and producers/consumers
Integrate Kafka with cloud-based systems such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Optimize Kafka performance and scalability by tuning configurations and managing resources
Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to manage Kafka infrastructure and deployment
Collaborate with development teams to identify opportunities for Kafka integration and implement solutions to improve performance and reliability
Work with security teams to ensure Kafka infrastructure meets compliance and security requirements
Participate in rotations to provide support for Kafka infrastructure and related systems
Write automation scripts using common automation tools, such as Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform
Perform other duties as assigned

Technical Skills:
Β Expert understanding of:
Scripting and coding
Network technologies
CI/CD tools such as Artifactory, Jenkins, and GIT
Cloud native applications, including Terraform experience
Technologies used to support microservices
Experience with cloud-based systems such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including expertise in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
Strong programming skills in Java or Python, and experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
Understanding of software development methodologies and Agile practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a related area
7-10 years of related experience
Minimum 7 years experience working in a distributed multi-platform environment.
Minimum 3 years experience working with Kafka
Minimum 3 supporting enterprise monitoring technologies
Certificates or Licenses:
Cloud Certification a plus
