Associate Principal, Software Engineering: Blockchain, Distributed Ledger, Scala

What You'll Do
This role will be responsible for the development and delivery of business features in that application, integrating with a variety of upstream data-sources and presenting data through the user interface, all while enriching and advancing the platform. This software must achieve a blend of data-rich presentation, performance, user experience, and the capacity to support the busiest trading days in the world economy with rock-solid reliability. The candidate must be able to solve problems creatively, communicate effectively, and proactively engage in technical decision making to achieve these objectives. A team player and work well with business, technical and non-technical professionals in an agile environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.

• Contribute in building a stronger team to support in-house development as the vendor engagement comes to an end.
• Help in areas of DevOps, backend development and UI development.
• Technically collaborating with team lead to figure out complex project solutions involving multiple systems
• Participating in team discussions to help solve complex issues and plan for future hurdles while keeping delivery timelines into perspective.
• Be hands on involved in coding, testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and documenting the systems
• Help get the application ready to handle production by ensuring delivery and planning of nonfunctional aspects.
• Recommending technologies and tools that improve the efficiency and quality of OCC's systems and development processes.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software development experience
• 3+ years of Java/Backend development experience
• 1+ years of Scala development experience
• 1+ years of Front End/React development experience
• Experience with AWS technologies
• Knowledge of Akka framework
• Good to have experience in Fintech space
• Knowledge of blockchain technologies
• 'Get stuff done' and flexible mindset for greater good of the organization
• Intellectually curious and eager to learn

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of Kafka and MQ.
• Experience working with two or more of the following: Unix/Linux environments, event-driven systems, transaction processing systems, distributed and parallel systems, large software system development, security software development, public-cloud platforms, distributed data stores
• Fluent in functional programming, object-oriented design, industry best practices, and software patterns
• Knowledge of following types of testing: unit, integration, system, functional, non-functional, regression, and acceptance
• Understanding of performance issues and multi-threaded development
• Experience with continuous integration tools and, automating processes using scripting

Education and/or Experience:
