As Product & Privacy Counsel, you’ll have a broad range of responsibilities and will have the opportunity to counsel our product teams and privacy program. We're looking for someone to work closely with our product and business teams to ensure Dropbox continues to be an industry leader in protecting user data and implementing privacy by design. You will have immediate impact with your substantive knowledge, analytic rigor, sophisticated judgment, effective interpersonal skills, and ability to get things done. Responsibilities
- Counsel on user privacy and data protection issues in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Advise on cross-functional company projects related to data protection and privacy by design.
- Play a key role in crafting, implementing and refining our privacy program.
- Advise technical and business development teams on legal risk from the initial stages of product development, through launch, to market strategy.
Requirements
- Experience with and passion for counseling or litigating product and data privacy issues.
- Knowledgable in consumer protection issues in the digital environment, security, intellectual property law, platform liability, marketing and advertising law, and information policy.
- Experience interfacing with EU regulators and responding to investigations.
- Experience counseling product development and working closely with designers, engineers, and product management.
- Excellent writing, communication, verbal and written, and organisational skills.
- Eager to learn new technologies and ideas. Comfortable navigating complicated and nuanced issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- BA/BSc/LLB degree and are a qualified lawyer.
