Job Description
- Carry out market research and analysis, collating both internal and external insight, to help drive direction and priorities for our products
- Understand current product portfolio and positioning, buyer & user personas, competitive environment, and market opportunities. Solutions may include Document Intelligence, Case Center, Strategic Insights, Financial Insights, 3E, and HighQ. Personas include lawyers, law firm administrators, legal technologists, court administrators, in house corporate counsel, legal department operations staff.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative research with customers, to understand the needs of our customer markets
- Develop a deep understanding of our customers pain points and goals to articulate clear and differentiated value propositions
- Deliver and support development of high-impact product marketing activities that drive and support product awareness, client usage and retention, market leadership, and enable new sales and up-selling/cross-selling across the legal technology portfolio.
- Provide support to Outbound Product Marketing, for go to market activities including key messaging, proof points and tactics.
- Communicate product value propositions to the market and internal/external teams and develop materials/tools that support the channels/segments in meeting their sales and revenue goals.
- Provide analyses to determine ROI and effectiveness, and recommendations for program refinement.
- Conduct win / loss interviews and other customer-facing initiatives to bring insights into the company.
- Gather info from appropriate business partners to create customer communications when necessary.
- Work closely with internal and external teams including channels/segments, product management, sales, sales enablement, inbound product marketing, marketing strategy, creative and production, campaign planning, and content center of excellence to develop and execute product marketing programs and initiatives.
- Provide ongoing reporting and updates to key stakeholders on programs, activities, and results.
- Coordinate with other Thomson Reuters divisions and teams on select ad hoc projects
You're a fit for the role of Product Marketing Manager, Inbound - Legal Research if your background includes:
- 2+ years of product marketing and/or relevant experience with specialized training. Relevant experience may be in product management, marketing, sales or customer service, or have experience working in a law office, corporate legal department, courthouse, or government agency.
- Experience in the use of legal technology is preferred
- Customer-centric; able to represent the customers' perspective and maintain strong client relationships; and strong commercial acumen with an ability to 'think like a customer'
- Strong knowledge of marketing and sales operations
- Ability to communicate persuasively and tactfully with all levels of management, co-workers, and customers, in written and verbal form
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Highly organized and motivated with ability to drive results
- Project management and analytical skills
- Strong Team player, positive attitude, adaptable to change
- Experience with the legal services market is an advantage
- Bachelor's degree required
