Associate Production Manager (Editorial Department)

SUMMARY:

The Associate Production Manager (APM) oversees the management of one or more front end departments for a production. Departments may include Story, Script, Editorial and Visual Development. An APM reports directly to the Production Manager and partners closely with the Department Lead.

Sony Pictures Animation is a pre-production animation studio based in Culver City, California, creating both feature animation and animated series with artists from around the world. • Maintain and supervise the department schedule and budget, making sure target dates are met and landmarks are achieved.
• Provide clear and open dialogue with Production Manager, other Sony Pictures Animation/Sony Pictures Imageworks departments and outside vendors. Provide current information to other front end departments.
• Update status reports, sequence lists and tracking documents for each department being supported.
• Ensure proper preparation for all meetings and reviews.
• Take thorough notes and distribute.
• Work with the Department Head on delegating assignments and deliveries.
• Manage the coordinator and/or PA for the department (assigning tasks, morale building, mentoring).

• 3 or more years of managerial experience in a feature film production environment.
• Working knowledge of the animation pre-production and editorial pipeline.
• Familiarity with all aspects of production management, including resource & schedule management, personnel and performance management.
• Demonstrate excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and promote a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Confirmed ability to work effectively in a high energy, fast paced, constantly evolving environment.
• Must possess exceptional attention to detail and follow-through, and the ability to function under pressure.
• Proficiency in Excel, Photoshop, Flix, Shotgun, Google docs, production tracking software a plus

The anticipated base salary for this position is $1,225.00/week to $1,550.00/week. This role may also qualify for incentives and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
