Associate Project Manager - FACTS / Synchronous Condenser positions offered by Hitachi Energy USA Inc., (Raleigh, NC). Perform engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project management for FACTS power quality projects safely, on time and within budget. Role focused on Synchronous Condenser products and ancillary systems. Support proposal efforts by introducing and promoting innovation, cost saving ideas, and value-added solutions to the overall system design concept. Perform on-site assessment and evaluation of existing equipment, steel structures, foundations, etc., in "brown field" substation projects. Lead sub-contractor bid reviews to resolve bid response inconsistencies and mistakes. Assist negotiation of project specific terms and conditions. Define project scope of work, goals and deliverables. Develop and manage overall project execution plan in order to meet the project objectives and customer's expectations. Manage and control project budget to ensure a positive cash flow throughout the duration of project.

Requires a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in engineering, construction management or a related field and 4 years of experience in the position offered or 4 years of experience working with HV substation electrical apparatus including breakers, transformers, disconnects, and instrument transformers. Also requires 4 years of experience: programming, testing, or commissioning protection and control equipment; managing or supporting EPC projects, station retrofits and upgrades or large-scale service jobs in the HV Utility industry; and working with cross functional teams including performing negotiations with customers and suppliers. In lieu of a bachelor's degree in aforementioned fields and 4 years of experience as stated, employer will accept 6 years of experience as stated. Also requires 2 years of experience providing project management or execution support for HV Synchronous Condenser, STATCOM, SVC, or Series Capacitors; and supporting engineering & technical design requirements for substation and FACTS projects. Position reports to office in Raleigh, NC. Position may work from home, but must live within commuting distance of stated office. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
