Associate Quality Assurance

What You'll Do:
Technical Certification Services (TCS) is a department of the Market Operation Group at the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC). The TCS mission is to mitigate production risk supporting business process testing for internal and external business users including:

• Externally requested testing of real-time and batch data interfaces, facilitating roundtrip testing through OCC systems for on-boarding, new or expanded external capabilities and software, OCC expanded functionality and industry initiatives to ensure external party readiness, providing:
• Industry Testing
• Regulatory support testing
• Certification
• Business functional demonstration
• Shake-out or "Burn-In" of pre-production business processes
• Daily User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Support of test and production connectivity with real time and batch
• Management of test and production output data distribution to external participants
• Internal OCC organizational requests including:
• Internal controls and audit verification
• Simulation of business functional testing for discovery and verification

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The Quality Assurance Analyst duties include a blend of business and technical abilities that require:

• Interacting with testing participants to determine the objective and requirements of the request
• Environmental and data setup, execution and monitoring of the effort to deliver the request's objectives and deliver the required output.
• Testing participant support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve testing issues during the effort. Escalation of unresolved issues
• Participation in project and team meetings providing status reporting, highlighting any missing/incomplete capabilities encountered.
• Adhere to the designated testing process and auditable control points
• Capture, record and summarize the effort to complete the request
• Coordinates with applicable business areas as needed when testing
• Complete various projects and initiatives as assigned by Management
• Actively engage and collaborate as a TCS team member, clearly and concisely communicating issues and resolutions.

Technical Skills:
MUST HAVE:

• Strong skills or experience in manual testing environment and experience with both front/back end testing
• Experience in developing test scope and plans, project management, SDLC methodology
• Requires a broad knowledge of systems and application development technological alternatives. Familiarity with:
• Client/Server concepts (i.e. Java, JSP, Servlet, C++, HTML, Unix/Linux)
• Understanding of Relational Database concepts
• Understanding and usage of SQL
• Unix/Linux / Windows commands, file structure and administration
• Familiarity with scheduling packages (UC4, CA7, Autosys) operation
• Familiarity with XML concepts and structures
• Familiarity with real-time (MQ) and batch (SFTP) protocols

PREFERABLE:

• Mainframe (TSO navigation, basic file editing, job monitoring)
• Proficiency in SQL (DB2, SQL server; queries, data manipulation
• Knowledge of GitHub and Jenkins
• Knowledge of scripting with Cucumber
• Unix/Linux scripting (i.e. Bash or Perl)

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Economics, Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Financial Services experience (Options Industry preferred)
• General securities markets and derivatives (Options Industry knowledge preferred)
