Associate Quality Engineer

The Role:

You will directly support the day-to-day manufacturing of Meati Foods’ mycelium-based alt-protein products. You will have the opportunity to drive a culture of continuous improvement by deploying sound engineering fundamentals to achieve quality objectives and ultimately yielding better production and customer outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Measurement of in-process samples to support production of Meati finished goods
• Conducts testing and/or monitors in-process and finished goods product
• Coordinates with Operations team regarding the collection and testing in accordance with the requirements of Meati policies & procedures.
• Verification and Validation of Equipment, Processes and Sanitary Operation
• Document development and organization of facility records
• Documentation and record keeping must be maintained and a high attention detail is expected.
• Calibration of equipment and instruments.
• Assist with laboratory housekeeping.
• Ensure employees adhere to GMPs and follow company SOPs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required (Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology preferred), or equivalent mix of education and experience
• Previous experience working for a food or beverage company and knowledge of GMP principles.
• Experience with a fermented or cell-based product is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple workflows and experiments within a single day
• Ability to effectively work in cross-functional teams and utilize positive results to improve product/process.
• Interpretation and communication of results to cross-functional teams.
• Must be a self-starter, motivated and able to adapt to the demands of a fast-growing company

Compensation: 

Range is $50,000 – $65,000, including a potential annual bonus and equity. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
