A successful Associate Regional Director will possess very strong product and presentation skills as well as the ability to demonstrate consultative sales skills, such as prospecting, probing and driving sales through external field travel as well as utilizing technology to sell through "virtual" settings.

Description of Role:
  • Work collaboratively with the Team Lead and Senior Regional Directors on the team (External Sales Representative) and Regional Consultant (Internal Sales Representative) to maximize territory sales efforts and attain sales goals
  • Utilize data segmentation to plan and manage targeted Advisor and Advisor Team sales efforts
  • Manage Financial Advisor relationships through field travel as well as telephone and "virtual" technology
  • Continually manage each stage of the sales process
  • Host webinars, conference calls and roadshows for Financial Advisor and client related events
  • Ensure all CRM information for the territory is kept up to date and accurate
  • Engage with Intermediary firm centers of influence (COI) including but not limited to regional and office management
  • Professional business management:
    • Solutions minded attitude
    • Adhering to Business Plan by Priority/Zone/Rotation
    • Be a Sales Leader
    • Work across the organization, coordination with Marketing, Product, Operations and other parts of the organization
    • Keep pipeline current
    • Host Weekly/Bi-Weekly reoccurring Calls with Internal/External Partners Utilizing Territory Management Reporting to review activity and pipeline
    • Manage business for diversification by Product & Platform
    • Stay within allotted budget/leverage Business Development for firm level event funding
    • Timely submission/completion of Expenses/Continuing Education /Training Videos
    • Host Quarterly Roundtables
  • Leverage Voya resources:
    • Schedule Quarterly PM/CPM travel (at least 2 times per quarter)
    • Schedule client calls/webinar with CPMs regularly
    • Host planning and prep call 5-7 days in advance
  • Conduct appointments with majority of Priority Advisors
    • Capture quality notes / key advisor information in Salesforce
    • Utilize Outlook invites for all meetings - formatted to be client friendly
  • Engagement with Voya business partners
    • Host DCIO-monthly calls
    • Work with Retirement Services counterpart
    • Work with PIF Specialists
    • Working with Business Development to explore firm specific opportunities
  • Promoting Voya initiatives such as:
    • Voya Cares
    • National Day of Service and other charitable events


Knowledge & Experience
  • Must have at least a 4-year degree from an accredited college or university
  • Five to seven years sales experience within the Financial Services industry
  • Current Series 7 and 66 (or 63 & 65 combo) licenses are required
  • Candidate should have strong working knowledge of popular sales software and Microsoft Office
  • Candidate should be professional, adaptable, collaborative, creative, self-motivated, organized, and responsible
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an attention to detail
  • Candidate should demonstrate an upbeat, positive attitude and possess the ability to excel in a team environment
