The Role

IEQ Capital is looking for a motivated professional to join our Foster City-based team as a Research Associate working across Alternative Investments and Public Markets. The Research Associate will work closely with the the client-facing team to manage important elements of the investment process. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Conducting due diligence on Alternative Investments including but not limited to:
    • Market Analysis, Downside Scenario Modelling, Risk and Return Analysis
  • Contributing to market commentary and strategy in public equity and fixed-income markets  
  • Participating in Investment Committee meetings and contributing to the due diligence of a prospective Alternative Investment as it moves through our internal pipeline.
  • Assisting in onboarding new funds to the IEQ Alternative Investments platform
  • Monitoring existing Alternative Investments across multiple asset classes (real estate, private credit, private equity, etc.) on an ongoing basis and producing relevant written communications
  • Communicating Alternative Investment portfolio developments to the client services teams
  • Participating in outbound sourcing of new Alternative Investment fund managers and ideas 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree required.  
  • 1-2 years of relevant internships/work experience preferred. Open to new graduates.
  • Experience with financial modeling and data analysis is a plus (i.e. Python, Excel, R, Salesforce, etc.).
  • Academic understanding of financial markets, major asset classes, and macroeconomics.
  • Be able to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and work independently.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. 

Career Path

You should expect to hold the Research Associate position for 24 months. During that time, you will be evaluated on the impact of your contributions, taking on more responsibilities as you acquire the necessary skills to move on to a more senior role.  

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $85,000-$120,000, including base and bonus, depending on skills and experience.
