Associate, Research (Platform Management track)

The Role

IEQ Capital is looking for a motivated professional to join our Foster City-based team as a Research Associate focusing primarily on Alternative Investments with some exposure to Liquid Investments. This is a great role for anyone who wants to gain experience with managing an institutional portfolio of investments across public and private markets. This role will work closely across departments to manage important operational elements of the investment process. The Research Associate will be expected to divide their focus across multiple responsibilities, including:  

• Leading the ongoing monitoring and maintenance of existing Alternative Investments by performing tasks including but not limited to:  
• Coordinate among team members to ensure that key fund-level data is kept up to date in Salesforce.  
• Coordinate the quarterly process of updating performance and cash flow estimates pertaining to Alternative Investments  
• Coordinate the approval of external marketing materials associated with new and existing Alternative Investments  
• Contributing to the Alternative Investment pipeline process by performing tasks including but not limited to:  
• Supporting the Research Team to onboard new funds onto the IEQ Alternative Investments platform as needed.  
• Understanding operational complexities of new Alternative Investment ideas.  
• Coordinating firm-level Alternative Investment fundraising efforts.  
• Participating in weekly Investment Committee meetings 
• Leading multiple ongoing operational improvement projects across the firm and within research. As a Research Associate (Platform Management Track) you will act as a project manager across multiple research-related projects. You will be expected to balance various projects, meet tight deadlines, and work collaboratively to achieve the desired outcome. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required. 
• 1-2 years of relevant internships/work experience preferred. Open to new graduates. 
• Exhibit curiosity in financial markets and be able to articulate the core differences between public and private markets.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Be able to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and work independently.
• Be able to perform in an ever-changing, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and writing skills.
• Experience with Salesforce and/or Addepar is a plus.
• Experience with financial modeling and data analysis / visualization is a plus (i.e. Python, SQL, Excel, R, Salesforce, etc.)  

Career Path

You should expect to hold the Research Associate position for 24 months. During that time, you will be evaluated on the impact of your contributions, taking on more responsibilities as you acquire the necessary skills to move on to a more senior role.  

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $85,000-$120,000, including base and bonus, depending on skills and experience.
