Associate Risk Analyst
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for the risk management discipline to join the Governance & Operational Risk team. The team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing The Hartford's risk framework including enterprise risk committees, policies, risk assessment and reporting to internal/external stakeholders (e.g. Board, Internal Risk Committees, Regulators, Rating Agencies).
In this role, the Associate Risk Analyst will support broader governance and operational risk management activities (risk assessment, analysis, research, risk reporting, project support).
* This person will sit in our Hartford CT office 3 days per week

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$60,800 - $108,240

Associate Risk Analyst

In this role, the Associate Risk Analyst will support broader governance and operational risk management activities (risk assessment, analysis, research, risk reporting, project support).

Responsibilities:
- Provide support for key risk practices (risk assessment, analysis, and reporting)
- Aggregate and assess internal data including business risk assessment results, stress scenarios and risk dashboards to inform enterprise top and emerging risks
- Identify opportunities to enhance risk metrics and reporting
- Assist in the development of presentations to executive risk committees, the Board of Directors, regulators, and rating agencies
- Perform ongoing research (industry research, peer analysis, external risk trends)
- Provide weekly industry research to the Chief Risk Officer and senior risk leaders
- Support the quarterly peer earnings process by analyzing bank analyst sentiment
- Identify external trends to inform enterprise risks (e.g. climate, cyber, natural catastrophes, talent)
- Provide support for various risk projects (e.g. Climate Risk, Annual ERM Leadership Session)
- Track progress of key deliverables, provide status updates, and identifying/escalating issues
- Facilitate working sessions with subject matter experts and leaders to achieve project deliverables
- Coordinate across different areas within ERM and business areas to foster knowledge exchange where appropriate
- Assist with maintaining and enhancing The Hartford's Enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance tool (Archer)
- Provide support during the development and implementation of new risk solutions (e.g. requirements gathering, solution documentation, training materials)
- Assist in the develop of presentations to business customers and strategy sessions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ years of business experience; insurance industry experience preferred
- Strong organization, analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities and deadlines
- Ability to build strong relationships with a proven track record of working effectively as an individual contributor as well as a team player
- Continuous improvement mindset, problem solving capabilities
- Results and detail oriented, accountable, motivated and flexible
- Strong PowerPoint and presentation building skills
