At Pixelligent, we’re searching for an Associate Scientist.
Summary
The Associate Scientist I will support the Product Development team in the surface modification of Pixelligent’s nanocrystals, the dispersion of nanocrystals into solvents and polymers, and forming various products from the prepared nanocomposites. This position will also tabulate data and report results according to internal and/or customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Working under the leadership of the senior scientific team in a laboratory environment to support new product development.
- Preparation and analysis of chemical samples using existing SOPs to support product manufacturing, product development, and other research projects.
- Conduct research and develop new materials in support of various governmental research grants awarded to Pixelligent.
- Obtaining and evaluating data, using statistical methods when necessary, and communicating it to the senior scientific team.
- Communicating updates in a timely and concise manner with management and other personnel on projects.
- Operation of equipment such as UV-Vis, viscometer, FTIR, spin coater, UV curing, ink-jet printer, and other scientific equipment, as needed.
- Maintains a safe and organized laboratory.
- Other project related tasks as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science.
- One (1) year of relevant experience.
- Proficient with wet chemistry and standard organic chemistry processes
