Associate Scientist II

Duties: Responsible for contributing to large-scale T cell expansions and the generation of comprehensive data packages for the validation of TCR/CAR T cell approaches. Engineering CAR T/TCR cells using viral vectors or other gene editing approaches. Maintaining tumor cell and primary cell cultures
using aseptic technique. Performing in vitro immunological assays including but not limited to flow cytometry, Luminex/MSD, and cytotoxicity analysis. Effectively collaborating cross-site and cross-functionally to develop study design and obtain test materials and reagents. Contributing to experimental design, execution, and data analysis. Compiling, analyzing, and presenting data to functional teams for decision making. Performing general lab tasks in accordance with lab safety policies. Maintaining detailed and accurate documentation in an electronic lab notebook. Driving core molecular assays such as HOS Titer, qPCR, cloning and VCN. Working with Oncology, Gene Editing, Facilities and IT to accomplish cross-functional projects. Successfully making cell banks and transducing cell lines for key projects. Leading initiatives to increase efficiency, collaboration, and communication in the labs. Reagent tracking, coordination, and aliquoting. Responsible for the care and maintenance of various flow cytometers and sorting machines. Tissue culture suite captain - responsible for the maintenance of room equipment such as incubators, water baths and centrifuges. Position reports into Cambridge, MA office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.

Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree in Bioengineering, Cell Biology, Immunology, or a directly related field plus one (1) year of experience as a Scientist or any occupation/position/job title involving experience in a laboratory environment. Experience may be gained concurrently and must include:

One (1) year in each of the following:
- Mammalian cell culture, including tumor cell lines
- Applying knowledge of general laboratory techniques and Biosafety level (BSL) requirements
- Working in a team environment including meeting deadlines, and prioritizing and balancing work from multiple individuals
- Standard immunological or cytotoxicity assays such as flow cytometry, Meso Scale Discovery (MSD), Luminex, Impedance, or IncuCyte
- Microsoft Office, FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, or FACSDiva

Will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of described experience.
