Associate Scientist/Scientist, CPD

What you'll do:

• Plan and perform experiments to improve AAV product yield in the process development and optimization using suspension cell culture systems, such as shake flasks, and small bioreactors.
• Evaluate small-scale cell culture experiments to develop and validate scale-down process
• model supporting production-scale bioreactor optimization.
• Analyze and interpret experimental results to suggest changes and/or add experiments to
• improve AAV production yield with the process robustness and/or reproducibility.
• Design and execute protocols, assembling data, and drafting appropriate technical
• documentation including SOPs and Process Development Reports.
• Support early-stage discovery efforts and new target identification by performing data
• analysis of in vitro cellular assays using various techniques and assays such as
• DNA/RNA/protein isolation from cells, RT-PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, and Western blot.
• Maintain plasmid and Bacmid records and inventories accurate and up to date.
• Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed. 

About you:

• PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Virology, Biochemistry or related field and 1-2 years
• relevant biotechnology industry experience Or Associate Scientist: Bachelors in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Virology, Biochemistry or related field and 5-8 years of relevant biotechnology industry experience
• Strong skills with mammalian HEK293 and insect Sf9 cell culture.
• Hands-on experience in upstream bioprocess unit operations including shaker flasks, and/or
• small & large-scale bioreactors strongly needed.
• Experience with AAV viral vector production for Gene Therapy is preferred.
• Experience with NGS is a plus.
• Critical thinking, analytic skills, and trouble-shooting ability.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills.
• Capability to multi-task, be independent, self-motivated, as well as work in a highly
• collaborative setting.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
