Belharra Therapeutics is an early-stage small molecule discovery company founded by pioneers in the field of chemical biology. Through the application of our proprietary chemoproteomics platform merged with innovative biology and medicinal chemistry, we are modulating protein function in previously unidentified ways to push the limits of drug discovery. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working, and highly motivated biologist that can help us drive early-stage projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background with developing cell-based assays and hand-on experience with small molecule screening. This role will contribute to the growth of Belharra’s research portfolio by selecting and screening high value targets in a variety of cell-based assays.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Establishing and conducting cell-based assays, including cytotoxicity, cell proliferation, cytokine production and luminescence-based assays
  • Performing molecular biology techniques, including Western Blotting, ELISA, IP, qPCR, and construct design for protein expression and characterization in mammalian systems
  • Tissue culture and expansion of cancer cell lines; immune cell isolation from human blood and mouse tissues
  • Developing screening assays and translational cellular models to support small molecule screening

  • Degree in Molecular and Cell Biology, Biochemistry or related field with a minimum of five years of industry experience. 
  • Extensive experience with mammalian cell culture and assay development for small molecule screening.
  • Experience with basic molecular biology techniques (ELISA, WB, qPCR, etc)
  • Track record in small molecule screening in a variety of cell-free and cell-based assays
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to coordinate activities across different programs
  • Experience in oncology and/or immunology fields

Pay Scale Range (CA)
$85,000—$125,000 USD

At Belharra Therapeutics, Inc. pay ranges are subject to change and are assigned to a job based on its level within the company.  Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.
