Associate Scientist/Senior Associate Scientist, Hit Identification within Biologics Discovery

Dragonfly Therapeutics seeks an experienced and motivated Associate Scientist/Senior Associate Scientist with a strong background in cell biology/immunology to support the discovery and development of cancer and autoimmune therapies. The successful candidate will work with Dragonfly’s Hit Identification Team to support antibody discovery campaigns with cell reagents, functional screening assays and identify novel biologics throughout preclinical development. The candidate will collaborate and communicate across teams to identify novel drugs that stimulate immune responses, working towards deeper molecular characterization and biological understanding. 

Responsibilities:

• Tissue culture maintenance of both adherent and suspension cells
• Generate isogenic cell lines using viral transduction
• Generate single cell knockout cell lines using CRISPR technology
• Perform pooled and single-cell FACS sorting to establish cell lines
• Perform single and multi-plexed flow cytometry to quantify binding of biologics to target
• Analyze and document resulting flow data on instrument-associated softwares and in FlowJo
• Design, develop, troubleshoot and establish in vitro assays and standard operating procedures
• Analyze, interpret and communicate laboratory results within Hit ID team, Biologics Discovery group and Research department
• Manage daily work flow independently and seek advice when appropriate
• Maintain a detailed and up to date electronic lab notebook

Qualifications:

• BS or MS degree in Cell Biology, Immunology, Bioengineering or relevant field
• 2+ years of relevant research experience; industry experience (1+ years)
• Mastery of aseptic cell culture; experience with a variety of cell lines
• Experience in flow cytometry analysis and FACS-based cell sorting is highly desired
• Experience in viral transduction and/or CRISPR techniques is desired
• Basic understanding of molecular biology techniques like PCR, vector construction, or Sanger Sequencing
• Strong organizational and time-management skills and ability to work on multiple project simultaneously
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to work across functions
• Ability to work within a team, coordinating with other scientists
• Self-motivated, conscientious, and enthusiastic about curing cancer and auto-immune disease
