Associate Software Development Engineer

This position is located in our Shoreview, MN office with a hybrid schedule (two days per week in office).

Overview:

PTC is looking for a self-motivated, results-driven full-stack software engineer to help deliver the next generation of our best-in-class PLM solution. You will join a team responsible for implementing sought-after capabilities and features to help customers design and manufacture their products more quickly and easily. You will play a key role in the design and implementation of solutions within a highly collaborative work environment. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define feature requirements and refine backlog
• Deliver performant, high-quality code, meeting feature requirements and adhering to secure coding practices, backed by automated tests
• Drive continued improvement in code quality through detailed and collaborative code reviews, identifying opportunities for code reuse, and championing necessary automated test coverage
• Participate in team design and architecture reviews, providing critical feedback towards establishing a performant and logical framework to be leveraged by product teams
• Gain domain knowledge to build a good foundation for implementing future improvements and features
• Assist Technical Support in triaging and investigating customer reported issues, and provide subsequent recommendations for an appropriate resolution

Skills and Knowledge:

• Proven time management skills, with the ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and frameworks
• Proficiency in Java
• Proficiency in JavaScript (TypeScript a plus)
• Understanding of HTML5 and CSS
• Familiarity with Java technologies such as JSPs and Spring is beneficial

Experience:

• Experience with object-oriented programming (OOP)
• Experience with a modern JavaScript framework such as Angular or React
• Understanding of RESTful web services-based architecture helpful
• Understanding of SQL and relational database concepts
• Familiarity with agile software development principals

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
