Job Description

What You'll Do

Operating as a Junior Developer within Renaissance Risk’s UI Team under general supervision, you will help develop UI or associated software against defined requirements, work on documentation and write sufficient unit, integration and regression tests.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.

  • Consulting with Business Users, Team lead, Developers and Stakeholders to gain an in-depth understanding of business and usability (UX) requirements.

  • Develop good understanding about OCC processes including its SDLC, existing UI software and use that knowledge to write software that meets the requirements.

  • Collaborate with Technical staff, write test plans and perform Systems Testing.

  • Building relationships with Business Users and IT teams.

  • Identifying and documenting defects and enhancements required based on observation during development and testing of the software.

  • Well-developed conceptual thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in Agile Methodologies, using Scrum framework.

  • Working knowledge of Atlassian Confluence and JIRA.

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry, with a focus on Options industry, is nice to have.

  • Ability to work well with a team.

  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.

  • Must have prior experience writing UI applications using Java Script, React Framework, and advanced knowledge about how middleware operates within UI applications.

Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

  • Proficient in understanding wireframes / UX requirements.

  • Ability to grasp technical terms and proactively develop working knowledge about technologies used within projects.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience writing UIs and object oriented software development using advanced programing languages like REACT JS, Java, Python and Java Scripts.

  • Bachelors in computer science or equivalent.
