Your Mission

As an Associate GCP Solutions Architect at SADA, you will work collaboratively with other architects and engineers to design and prototype customer deliverables for the deployment of scalable Google Cloud Platform (GCP) architectures. You will work with engineering teams, customers and sales teams to assist in the qualification of potential engagements and deliver Statements of Work (SOWs) that engineering teams can successfully execute. You’re also hands-on, able to conduct experiments and build functioning prototypes that prove out ideas and build confidence in the solutions you advocate.

You will be an established contributor within SADA and will develop a high-quality reputation with customers, as well as Google Cloud’s sales and professional services organizations. You will demonstrate repeated delivery of project architectures successfully. You will also lead early-stage opportunity technical qualification calls, as well as lead client-facing technical discussions. 

You will be way out in front of our delivery organization, meeting with the full spectrum of corporate and enterprise customers that need our consultative services. You will have your finger on the pulse of their technical needs and work together to solve their real-world problems on Google Cloud. 

Your success will be measured by a combination of (a) the volume of signed SOWs that you create, and (b) the level of automation you can bring to your role.

Duties

• Develop custom software solutions to simplify the job of all solutions architects and make a more efficient sales pipeline 
• Capture data and metrics to measure the overall success and efficacy of the professional services organization 
• Meet with customers to identify technical needs and turn them into project plans 
• Create Statements of work that capture business requirements and contractual language to add value to customer service engagements. 
• Support the Engineering team in the delivery of Professional Services engagements through hands-on-keyboard work in customer environments 
• Develop policy and procedure to improve the speed of delivery 
• Train and educate other Solutions architects in the execution of daily job duties.

Expectations

 Required Travel - <25% travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events. 

Customer Facing - This is a customer-facing role. You will interact with customers on a daily basis. You will participate on calls and onsite customer meetings to qualify consultative engagements with engineering and business teams. You will assist in the presentation of solutions, architectures, SOWs, demos, and other technical materials to build trust and confidence in SADA’s ability to guide the customer through their cloud adoption. 

Onboarding/Training - The first several weeks of onboarding are dedicated to learning and will encompass learning materials/assignments and compliance training, as well as meetings with relevant individuals. Details of the timeline are shared closer to the start date.

Job Requirements

Required Credentials:

• Google Professional Cloud Architect Certified and/or Google Professional Data Engineer Certified, or able to complete one of the above within the first 90 days of employment. 

Required Qualifications: 

• Familiarity in at least one of the following domain areas:
• Understanding the networking and security implications of cloud-native design.
• Migrating n-tiered workloads from on-prem and other clouds to GCP with near-zero-downtime (includes full spectrum of lift and shift to complete re-platforming scenarios).
• Building hybrid-cloud solutions based on VM and containerization technologies, such as VMware, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, and Anthos. 
• Infrastructure Modernization: 

• Experience with automation technologies including Terraform, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, AWS Cloud Formation, or Microsoft Azure Automation.

• Data Engineering: 
• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform and related data products (Datalab, Dataprep, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, etc)
• Data warehouse modernization (including technical architectures, star/snowflake schema designs, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT pipelines and reporting/analytic tools), 
• OLTP/OLAP data migrations, or backup, restore and disaster recovery solutions. 
• Experience working with Hadoop and the surrounding ecosystems, including Hive, Pig, Spark, etc.
• Data Science: 
• ML/AI solution development, building of models, and other components related to applying data science to real-world problems.
• Application Development: 
• Building custom web and mobile applications on top of the GCP stack. 
• Familiarity with development APIs and libraries for development on GCP.
• Experience with cloud development tools like Apigee, Google App Engine (or other PaaS tools).
• Experience with SDLC lifecycle tools and their implementation.
• Experience with one or more modern programming languages.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with and communicate complex technical concepts to a broad range of stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with either cloud computing, traditional on-premises or enterprise data-center technologies.
• Experience working with engineering and sales teams.
• Experience producing technical assets or writing technical documentation, including, but not limited to, architecture designs and documentation, statements of work, project plans, and working code samples.
• Time management with the ability to manage multiple streams.

Useful Qualifications:

• Direct experience working with a variety of cloud technologies as well as designing and recommending elegant solutions that drive business outcomes.
• Understanding of infrastructure automation, continuous integration/deployment, relational/NoSQL data stores, security, networking, and cloud-based delivery models.
• Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and techniques with a willingness and capability to skill up.
• Familiarity with process automation and full-stack tinkering.
• Certifications and experience with other public cloud providers.
