Associate Solutions Sales Engineer 

• This pre-sales position involves helping our prospective customers use SmartBear API tooling in their CI/CD process 
• This role will also play a key role in supporting our emerging API Platform strategy, which will include product offerings for API exploration and API developer documentation. 
• You will have the opportunity to be part of a team of like-minded individuals, working with cutting edge API technologies like Kafka and Pactflow.  

Product intro 

SmartBears API Lifecycle portfolio helps API delivery teams ensure timely and low risk delivery of their APIs. Our tooling helps facilitate design-time collaboration, enforce governance patterns, prevent breaking changes, create automated functional and performance tests, and deploy virtual services. Our products serve a variety of end user personas ranging from API architect to manual tester to API developer. The specific tools that this role will support include:  

• SwaggerHub – API design, documentation, collaboration, and governance  
• ReadyAPI Test, Performance, Virtualization – point and click API test creation for automated API testing, and service virtualization  
• PactFlow – API contract testing  
• LoadNinja  - API and UI Performance Load testing

About the role 

• Partner with the SmartBear sales team to own the technical side of the sales cycle   
• Work closely with prospects as they evaluate our tooling by delivering demos, perform troubleshooting, and answering questions 
• Help the sales reps build up their knowledge and skillset to grow as salespeople, focusing on the API space 
• Enable our overall go-to-market strategy by helping build and deliver content for webinars, create videos of our products, and develop training for our sales teams 
• Grow your own technical skillset and knowledge-base by staying abreast of emerging market trends, customer use cases, and technology developments 
   

We are looking for you if you have :  

• Working knowledge of REST/SOAP webservices, microservices, and APIs 
• Worked directly with customers or internal clients to resolve technical problems 
• Development experience in one or more of the following languages – Groovy, Javascript, or Python 
• The candidate will have a passion for technology, and drive to learn about new technologies.  
• They are also expected to be a team player and comfortable presenting and demoing software 
• Experience in software development, quality assurance, performance monitoring, or other software quality related fields
