Associate Specialist QMP

Job Description:

The Associate Specialist QMP provides functional leadership to implement, maintain and improve Quality and Food Safety Management program across the manufacturing site to ensure that finished products are safe for human consumption and meet customer, consumer and regulatory requirements to achieve business objectives.

Minimum Requirements

• Associate's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering or related scientific or technical discipline and relevant intern experience
• 1-2 years of Food plant experience in a responsible position related to Food Safety or Quality and Food Safety Management System and/or combination of education and 7+ years demonstrated success in relevant manufacturing/quality experience
• Understanding of key scientific principles associated with food & ingredients
• Ability to work effectively in cross functional teams
• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong presentation Skills
• Ability to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering or related technical field
• 1 year of Food plant experience in a responsible position related to Food Safety or Quality and Food Safety Management System
• Demonstrated success with Food Safety risk, identification and management, HACCP and prerequisite controls
• Experienced auditor in GFSI Quality Systems such as SQF, BRC, FSSC22000 or ISO9000
• Proven application of quality tools, food science, and statistics
• Application of GMP, GLP, food allergens, pest control, sanitation, and food safety regulations

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Manages the implementation of Global Quality and Food Safety standards to ensure compliance with applicable statuary and regulatory food safety requirements
• Manages Internal audit program, CAPA, Quality and Food Safety change management process as it relates to new products, equipment or process
• Manages third party Quality and Food Safety Management systems certification audits
• Leads Q&FS continuous improvement projects within the site
• Leads in combination with Quality and Food Safety Manager product related incident management process and provide recommendation on product disposition
• Responsible for reviewing Global standards, leading gap assessment to the standards and regulatory requirements, including Food Defense Plan and continuous improvement of quality systems
• Manages external audit programs and the internal quality audit function for the site through training associates, creating audit schedule and ensuring a robust and corrective and preventative action process
• Collaborates with Q&FS Site team and supply partners to conduct the Q&FS management review at planned intervals to ensure suitability, adequacy and effectiveness of the Q&FS management programs
• Partners with supply, R&D and other key stakeholders to implement changes, new process or new products in a safe manner and implement product quality conformance system
• Leads continuous improvement of QFS system and product quality and conformance to specification through analysis of data and evaluation of trends through use of statistical analysis
• Provides technical expertise and conducts incident investigation and risk analysis as well as provides recommendations for appropriate resolution
• Leads segment 'community of practice' in an area of demonstrated expertise such as: auditing, food safety, hold management/systems, statistical process control, etc.
• Impacts quality of own work and the work of others both within the team and cross functionally
• Builds knowledge of the company, processes and customers. Understands key business drivers and uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
• Builds a network of cross functional partners to accomplish business objectives
• Receives guidance and direction from others
