This is a new opportunity for an Associate Systems / Software Engineer to join a dynamic organization involved in innovating solutions for complex technical systems. MITRE seeks somebody who is eager to learn about networking, DevSecOps, cloud services, agile methodologies, and 5G by working with a team in digital transformation efforts.

You will apply your knowledge to solve real life problems for government customers in collaboration with stakeholders from private, federal, state and local sectors.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based systems• Investigate various problem domains, architecting solutions and deliver high quality distributed applications • Execute important security practices including software component analysis, static application software testing (SAST), and unit tests• Working with cross-functional teams to design, build and deploy automated systems that meet specific business needs• Assist or embed within development teams as they create cloud-based systems. • Treat all challenges as opportunities to learn, excel and deliver state of the art solutions to solve nation's problems

Required for consideration:

• B.S. Computer Science, related discipline or equivalent combination of related education and work experience• Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a US government clearance.• Work experience as an intern or on school projects highlighting innovation and ability to architect solutions• Hands on proficiency in one or more languages (e.g. Python, Java, JavaScript, Go)• Familiarity with cloud technologies, wireless technologies, 5G network functions, 5G deployments• Familiarity with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe, etc.)• Have demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, presentation, and communications skills

Preferred:

• Advanced degree in applicable field • Preference given to qualified candidates with active clearance • Working knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitHub Actions
