Global Issues Team, Insikt Group, Recorded Future
Washington, DC / Boston, MA
This Role: The Global Issues team within the Insikt (Research) Group focuses on Strategic Geopolitics, Influence Operations, and Global Threats. You will support high-profile clients by conducting research and analysis to produce intelligence that covers significant global issues and events.
Who you’ll work with: The Global Issues team is a multifaceted group of subject matter experts specializing in different regions of the world and in threat analysis. The team supports a variety of products, services, and initiatives for both internal stakeholders and clients. You will also work with other teams in the Insikt Group on larger research projects and client requests.Â
What you'll do:Â
- Research, track, and author high-volume, quick-turnaround reports on a wide-range of current geopolitical and location-based risk events, such as armed conflicts, terrorist attacks, violent crimes, natural disasters, disease outbreaks, and moreÂ
- Produce finished intelligence reports addressing the priority requirements of our clientsÂ
- Lead in the data curation of geopolitical entities in the Recorded Future Platform
- Contribute to ongoing research projects across multiple teams that will be posted on our blogÂ
- Collaborate with other Insikt Group members and peer review finished intelligence reports
- Work with multiple internal teams to develop and improve the Geopolitical Intelligence offeringÂ
- Identify additional primary data sources to harvest into the Recorded Future platformÂ
What you'll bring (required):
- BA/BS or MA/MS degree or equivalent experience in Political Science, International Relations, Security Studies, or Regional Studies, or a related discipline
- 1+ years experience as a threat intelligence analyst, or in a similar position
- Demonstrably strong writing skills; ability to convey complex concepts
- Understanding of the intelligence cycle
- Ability to effectively communicate with and work as part of a globally distributed team
Highly Desirable Additional Skills / Experience (not required):
- Familiarity with the geopolitical environment of East Asia (specifically Korea + Japan), South Asia, or the Middle East
- Professional fluency in reading a foreign language
- Familiarity with analytic tradecraft, intelligence analysis and writing techniques and methodologies
- Knowledge of open source intelligence gathering tools and techniques
